The June social night at Rossdale was a big winner, $3,000 was raised and over 100 people having lots of fun. Funds to go back into club and court facilities. Massive effort by the committee, especially Eleesa and Andrew Judd, Elissa Macaw and Ged Salter. By the way have you had a look at the new kitchen?. This oven works!. Very professional job by Anthony Cameron with a little help from his friends. Plan to put some decking in on the other side of clubhouse. Could turn it into a semi enclosed area like another room off the clubhouse.
Meetings with state pollies, Tim Richardson and Geoff Gledhill, who are contesting the seat of Mordialloc, to seek major funding for court, lighting and fencing upgrade. We have a feasibility plan to show them that includes detailed costings and design. This has already been given to Kingston Council who have provided in principle agreement but no money so far. The immediate priority appears to be the netball courts and football club pavilion. Our en tout cas courts are old and lighting is ancient and we need to make the point that our club matters too. Please get behind the club and show we are strong and vibrant to the people who will make the decisions. As members and/or supporters of the tennis club you can email your local member Tim Richardson, liberal candidate Geoff Gledhill and Kingston Councillors to voice your opinion after years of neglect. The proposed upgrade of Regents Park should include all tenants. This will only happen with the court of public opinion. Please contact Eleesa Judd or Grant Plozza for further information.
Our Tuesday night social comp spring season is starting Tuesday week and we need to hear from you if you want to play. Come down next Tuesday at 7.30 for intro and hit. Contact Grant Plozza on 0412 163 143 if you are interested. Good tennis and fun. Get off the couch the weather is on the improve. We run through to December!
